James Dickey

From the Georgia Center for the Book website:

Join us for a celebration of National Book Award winning Poet, James Dickey, with the publication of the complete collection of his work. The Complete Poems of James Dickey is an authoritative edition of all 331 poems published by one of America's most distinguished poets, collected in one volume for the first time and edited by Ward Briggs, Carolina Distinguished Professor of Classics Emeritus and Louis Fry Scudder Professor of Humanities Emeritus at the University of South Carolina. The event will also feature readings of Dickey's poems by Bronwen Dickey, John Lane, and former Georgia Poet Laureate, David Bottoms.

Frequent guest of the Georgia Center for the Book, Ron Rash says, "One must go all the way back to Walt Whitman to find an American poet who can equal the sheer vitality of James Dickey's work. Ward Briggs's majestic compilation solidifies Dickey's position as one of our nation's greatest poets: oracular, unrelenting, and utterly original." With a foreword by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Richard Howard, president of the PEN American Center, this stunning collection truly honors one of the America's greatest Poets.
